As Clerkenwell Design Week 2018 has come to a close, we have had time to reflect on the week’s success. Opening the Knauf Clerkenwell doors in time for Clerkenwell Design week was very challenging, but also a very rewarding experience. We had over 500 visitors through the doors throughout the week after opening on the Tuesday morning.
We started the week off by hosting a workshop with Little Architects, which saw 25 local primary school children use the showroom to create their own versions of the house of the future, we were then able to display their artwork in the showroom for the remainder of the week. We had two workshops with Hotel Chocolat, where visitors were able to learn about Hotel Chocolat’s cooking process before making the chocolate themselves, this workshop was very successful and sold out weeks prior to the event! We also held workshops from Grind, a café-bar which originated in Shoreditch, where visitors were taught how to make their own coffee and Lauren Baker, a multi-disciplinary artist based in London who taught visitors to express their inner genius by encouraging them to decorate a brain. We closed Clerkenwell Design Week by hosting a Gin & Jazz evening, which sold out a month prior. We had a cocktail bar, a make your own gin bar and numerous Gin Masterclasses held throughout the evening by Cambridge Gin. The Jazz band, Ipanema, were brilliant and kept the crowd up on their feet all night.
The whole of Clerkenwell during Clerkenwell Design Week was colourful, friendly and welcoming and we are so excited for the next one. Until then, we are going to be working really hard to make Knauf Clerkenwell such a success!
